Courses
The Columbus Flyers Disc Golf Club maintains 12 courses throughout central Ohio. With courses ranging from beginner to advanced level, we have a course for everyone. Our volunteers work year-round to ensure these courses are in great shape for the local community. Check out the courses below for more information to find the right course for you.
-
Brent Hambrick
The Brent Hambrick Course at Hoover Reservoir is our club’s premier course. Initially designed in 1990 by Brent Hambrick, this course has been home to events at every level, from the PDGA National Tour to our local Ice Bowl. This course is home to the Brent Hambrick Memorial Open, an annual PDGA A-Tier event for professional and amateur players.
-
Simsbury
Simsbury DGC in Pickerington, Ohio, was installed by the Columbus Flyers Disc Golf Club in 2010. This course is located on a property solely dedicated to disc golf. It boasts many amenities, from an onsite restroom with running water, a sizeable pavilion, a practice putting area, and ample parking. Restrooms and water are not available during the winter months.
-
Kinslow
Installed as an Eagle Scout project in 2005, Kinslow Disc Golf Course is a beginner to intermediate-level course. While all skill levels can enjoy it, this is an excellent course for those just getting into disc golf. With the front nine being short, wooded, and technical, the back nine is more open, offering much variety without being too challenging for a beginner player.
-
Lobdell Reserve
Another Eagle Scout project, Lobdell Reserve Disc Golf Course, was installed in 2004. After the installation, the club stepped up and helped install the concrete tee pads, and most recently, we updated the baskets to brand-new Innova Discatchers. This is an excellent option if you are on the east side of Columbus or in Licking County.
-
Walnut Hill
Walnut Hill DGC was designed in 2015 on a former city golf course. This is our links-style course, and while more open than many of our other courses, there are still plenty of obstacles and hazards to navigate. This course has ample parking, a small pavilion, a playground, and a portable restroom. This is our most cart-friendly course.
-
Marysville
Located in Marysville, Ohio, this course was installed in 2006. This course features open and wooded holes, water, and OB, making it challenging for players of all skill levels. The course also features multiple tee pads and pin positions, adding good variety to the course. This is an excellent option if you are on the west side of Columbus.
-
Griggs Reservoir
Griggs Reservoir DGC is an excellent option for a quick round. Right off Riverside Drive near campus and Upper Arlington, this course is easy to access by most of the city. Griggs is one of the better options for beginner to intermediate players, but be aware of the Scioto River. She has been known to take a few wayward flying frisbees.
-
Veteran's Memorial
Veteran’s Memorial DGC was designed by Dean Barbo in 2020. This is an excellent course for intermediate to advanced-level players. This course features open and wooded holes, tons of water, and OB. This course is located in a busy public park, so play with caution and enjoy the variety this course has to offer. There is a weekly league during the summer months.
-
Riverview Reserve
Riverview Reserve is the future site of a championship-level disc golf course in Newark, Ohio. With an expected par of around 68, three sets of tee pads, and ranging from 8,000 to 10,000 feet, it will be challenging for players of all skill levels. Work is underway, and the expected opening is in the summer of 2024. Reach out for more information and future work days.
-
Big Walnut
This 18-hole course is located on the property of Big Walnut Intermediate School. The first phase of the course was installed in the summer of 2022 and is home to the original baskets from the Brent Hambrick Memorial Disc Golf Course. Be on the lookout for more updates in the future.
-
Gordon Holton
The Gordon Holton Memorial Disc Golf Course is in the beautiful Delaware State Park. The course is primarily wooded, with low ceilings, providing a technical challenge on each hole. With water in play on several holes, this course has a variety of shots to test your game.
-
Delaware Camp
The Delaware State Park Campground Course is a family/beginner-friendly nine-hole course near the camp store and dog park. The course is tightly wooded and technical, but the distances make it enjoyable for all skill levels. Discs are available in the camp store and marina.
